Weight Loss Wednesday: STFU!

Oh eat your chocolate. It’s good for you!

So I was reading one of my favorite blogs, Pasta Queen and it was a little, tiny post that said so much to me.  Here’s the post (and her FAQ’s are hilarious).  While the post is not exactly about weight loss, her site is… and I can identify with her story.  Weight loss is tiring and can be all consuming.  Workout. Measure. Log. Eat. Rinse. Repeat.  It’s a drag and if anyone tells you differently, they’re lying.

And whether they are in the struggle or not, everyone’s got an opinion. You know, you should eat this?  Why don’t you do this workout?  I thought you were tryin’ to lose?  Why don’t you wear this? It’s more flattering. On my better days, I politely nod and move the conversation on.  However, on other days I feel like telling those people to STFU!  Weight loss is a personal journey that requires a great deal of self reflection and discipline.  Sometimes it’s just best to keep quiet–on both sides.

Here are some tips from the experts about reaching your goal without losing friends and family in the process:

  • Make some friends online.   Sometimes having online support is just what you need and puts you in the company of others who share similar goals.
  • Journal.  Take some time to write down your experience and track your goals.
  • Make it being healthy and the rest will come together.  Don’t become distracted by others, focus on making healthy choices and you will reach your goal.

Keep up the good fight!

Sometimes you have to just listen to what you are craving. If you give in and have a little bit of what you want, it'll be better than allowing yourself to totally binge later on. Knowing yourself is part of the weight loss cycle as well.

Agreed. Sometimes you just need to move through it in order to progress. Thanks for stopping by:)
