Stuff We like: Everyday Gourmet Vegan Bakery

I almost broke into a full sprint home when my neighbor told me I got a package marked “baked good” and wanted to know if they should  keep it cold. I said yes and hurried back to the bat cave. The package was from Everyday Gourmet Vegan Bakery. I dug in.

The first of the six sweets I tore open was the oatmeal cookie. I often judge a product or chef by how they make the classics; sure exotic creations are great but if I can’t just get a simple and classic taste I’m gonna be mad.

I was pleasantly happy with their oatmeal cookie, and the blueberry and orange cranberry muffins were very good as well–nice flavor on the orange cran. Now I think it’s important to say I am  fan of wheat. I think it’s yummy and vital to baking in some areas. Everyday Gourmet uses organic ingredients including spelt flour, cane sugar and even coconut sugar in their diabetic friendly coconut chocolate chip cookie–exotically awesome!  They rounded out my care package with a Sesami Tahini, Vanilla Chai cookies and a yummy Peanut Putter Chocolate Chip Muffin (yep). It was pretty bangin’. The use of spelt, which has a lower gluten count than wheat,  makes the muffins a bit crumbly, which is a small price to pay for no sinus clogging wheat hangover.

You can order these and other drool-worthy sweets on their easy to navigate website anytime. Click here for more info.
