By all accounts, bamboo clothing is the bomb. I’m sorry. Please excuse my 90s throwback slang there. Opportunities for alliteration get the best of me sometimes. But really, people, it is – fast-growing, sustainable, completely eco-friendly, and (vegan) butter-soft, fabric made from bamboo is the ultimate green clothing choice. It’s also especially great for summer, due to bamboo’s awesome moisture absorption (minimal sweat stains!) and anti-UV properties (adios, sunburn!). And, of course, since bamboo is a grass and all, we here at iEatGrass hold it so very near and dear to our hearts.
Here are just a few of my favorite bamboo summer finds:
For everyday versatile summer women’s wear, I’m digging this 95% rayon bamboo racerback swing top by Gaiam. I see it thrown casually over a bathing suit or dressed up with a belt, jeans and heels for a night out. The Gaiam site also features bamboo-based leggings and t-shirts…cute and sustainable – yes, please!
Ladies, for those nighttime summer weddings you’re sure to end up at, try the Bamboo Cocktail Dress from Natural Clothing Company. It’s totally elegant and made from organically-grown bamboo – a double score, in my book.
And for the guys, you can’t really go wrong this summer with a solid v-neck t-shirt. Try out one of the bright- colored fitted shirts offered up at Bambooki. You can wear these bad boys to the beach or out to dinner – doesn’t really matter – you’ll be stylin’ either way. The Bambooki site also hasa ton of great women’s basics in bamboo form – check them out.
Okay, this is just a few of the many bamboo clothing options out there – with most everyone in the know about the many benefits of bamboo, this is really just a start. Why do you love bamboo clothes? Any favorite sites where you buy this awesome green clothing option?
