iEG is Looking For Interns!

Hey there! IEG is looking for two new interns for Fall 2012! We are in search of both a Social Media/Marketing Intern, and an Editorial Intern. These internships are virtual, meaning our interns will join our team and collaborate daily via email, Skype and phone. We are looking for passionate, driven thinkers with a unique voice and a firm grasp on what we’re all about here at iEatGrass.

Please read the descriptions below for application details.

SOCIAL MEDIA/MARKETING INTERN

Duties will include, posting daily to our social media accounts via Hootsuite, Pinning from our Pinterest account, growing our readership and posting comments and links on other blogs.

Commitment: 7 – 10 hours per week.

This is an unpaid position. Interns will gain experience and the possibility for additional opportunities within the company as we continue to grow.

To apply: Please send your resume, cover letter, 2 contacts, a sample Tweet Sheet and sample Pinterest pinboard (see below for instructions) to Zoe@ieatgrass.com by Friday August 24th.

Tweet Sheet instructions:

Take a look at our Twitter handle, @ayinde . This is Ayinde’s “personal” twitter account, as he is the name behind our site, similar to Kris Carr behind CrazySexyLife.com. We are trying as best we can to channel our inner Ayinde, which means using a laid back, personable voice and avoiding words that we have never heard him utter (like “neat” or “radical” or …. “awesomesauce.” Words like “cute” should be reserved for baby animals, not fashion finds.) Less can be more. Simply stating “An interesting take on factory farming…” or “check out this recipe for banana ice-cream…” can be good enough.

After reviewing our Twitter handle, please create a document with 15-20 sample “Tweets.”

Pinterest Pins
Take a look at our Pinterest and create a document with 3 links to things you would pin for each board if you were on iEG Pinterest duty.

BLOG/COPY EDITING INTERN

Duties will include creating, writing and editing posts about food, culture and current events for our blog and newsletter. Candidates will also be responsible for feature interviews and weekly columns.

Commitment: 7- 10 hours per week.

This is an unpaid position. Interns will gain experience and the possibility for additional opportunities within the company as we continue to grow.

To apply, please send blog pitches (see details below), your resume, cover letter and two contacts to Zoe@ieatgrass.com by Friday, August 24th.

Blog pitches
After familiarizing yourself with iEatGrass content, please and pitch 5 blog post ideas. These can be on current events, food, fitness, music, culture, film, art, or anything else you think would speak to our readership.

Two of these pitches should be turned into an actual post, between 400-600 words. Please use these posts to show off your original voice and writing style. We also encourage original photos. If you need to use a photo from somewhere else, be sure to source it.
