My Meatless Life: Releasing My First eCookbook, “Like This”

What have I learned over the past year is that I am never smart enough. After working with my client India.Arie, I had to learn to cook in a whole different way without any of my old crutches – no pre-mixed seasoning, no acids, no soy, no wheat.

Basically, all things delicious I could not use. I worked with hands behind back and blindfolded and in the middle of some very trying times in my personal life.
Now that I am out the other end, I look back and see the what I have done and it’s like I just completed a super Mario level 13. What I mean is, it feels great.

What do I have to show for it, you ask? Well I compiled a small cookbook on alternative proteins and today we are releasing it as an ebook on Lulu.com! Yay!!

This is my first official cookbook and I wanted to do it as an ebook because it’s less paper, it’s easy, and it’s user friendly. I plan on releasing more books, exploring all forms of protein rich foods and special diet alternatives.

In the meantime please check out this book. India was kind enough to write the foreword. Also be sure to pick up her album, SongVersation, released tomorrow! I was in the kitchen the day India decided to make this album, and it’s really an amazing record.  I was not an avid listener of her music before (I’m more of a hip-hop guy) and I often joke this is her best album! But people close to her say the same thing, so I guess it all happened at the right time.

    Congrats, Ayinde! I’m looking forward to the recipes in your ebook. It’s a huge change when you dump the mixes, acids, soy and wheat! I have a few friends who don’t eat them as well, and cooking for them is such a challenge, but also inspiring. I’m glad to see that your challenge cooking with India.Arie left you equally as inspired!
