Nothing signals the beginning of fall like a Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latté, unless you’re a vegan. (If you’re reading this article, then you probably are.) Unlike other Starbucks drinks that can easily be veganized, the Pumpkin Spice’s flavor syrup contains condensed milk. Although many of us have complained about the lack of a autumn vegan option, Brent Cardwell, a vegan and avid Starbucks drinker from Ferndale, MI is actually doing something about it.
He created an online petition on Change.org that asks Starbucks to make its Pumpkin Spice Lattés dairy-free. Cardwell writes, “After speaking with numerous other friends of mine from across the country, I have decided to start this petition to ask Starbucks to please change the ingredients of this beloved beverage so that all of their loyal patrons may enjoy it every autumn.” He adds, ”There is currently no vegan option for this drink mix, which is a total bummer.” Over 3,500 people have already signed the petition, which needs 5,000 signatures total before it’s sent to Starbucks CEO, Howard Schultz. If non-vegan Pumpkin Spice Lattés bum you out too, then add your voice to the Pumpkin Spice Latté Revolution and sign today!
