What to Do on Labor Day Instead of Going to the Beach

Labor Day is coming up, which means summer is ending, while everyone is doing the usual barbeque or day at the beach you can try something different!

  1. Find a festival or fair:

Instead of fighting for the last vegan sausage at the cookout spend the day riding the Ferris Wheel at the fair or listening to local bands at a fair in your area.
  2. Volunteer:

Even though labor day is supposed to be a day of rest, helping out in your local animal shelter or helping clean up your neighborhood will leave you feeling just as good! Head over to Google or Volunteer Match and see what might be going on in your town.

  3. Get Cultured:
    Museum
Check the museums to see if any are having some special (free) events so you can hangout in the air conditioning while educating yourself.
  4. Head to the Cinema:Young couple watching a film at cinemaThere have been so many good movies this year catch one of summer blockbusters or an indie film while munching on popcorn and Swedish fish!
  5. Relax:

Labor Day is dedicated to workers, if you have a day off take time to catch up on sleep, read a book or meditate to get you ready for the work week.

Enjoy your day off and let us know what your favorite way to celebrate Labor Day is!
