Foodie Tuesday: Juicing Up for Summer

IMG_6509

If you’re looking for a quick and healthy way to cool off this summer, I recommend stopping by your local juice truck. Food trucks have become increasingly popular, but an even newer trend are juice and smoothie trucks. For all of our lovely grassmunchers, I have scoured the internet in search of North America’s best juice trucks. (And I hope I haven’t missed any!) Although it’s been a long, grueling search, it was a labor of love to know we have so many healthy and yummy options out there! Continue reading

Foodie Tuesday: Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale

IMG_6161

I don’t know about you guys, but when I see the words “Vegan Bake Sale,” I get really excited. Truthfully, I get overexcited because as soon as I saw a flyer for Boston’s Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale, I immediately mapped out the trip to the MSPCA where the event was being held. For Boston, No Recipes, Just Thoughts

working_in_boston

Fate’s a funny thing. Yesterday morning, I was planning to spend the day as a hermit, avoiding the Boston marathon and the overpopulated city altogether. I had a lot of homework and final projects due this upcoming week, so I planned to devote my day to getting all that trivial stuff done. Foodie Tuesday: The Vegan Guide to Boston

This place is so close to the Harvard T station, it's ridiculous(ly awesome).

Boston is home to the American Revolution, over 50 universities, and some pretty awesome vegan dining options. After months of ravenous “research,” I’ve picked my four (okay five) favorite vegan places that you need to visit the next time you’re in Beantown…These two restaurants take classic American food and turn it on its head to create truly gourmet vegan dishes. It’s so good, vegheads and omnivores alike pile into these places every weekend. Seriously, I’ve been multiple times, and you’re lucky if they’re not already on a fifteen minute wait by nine a.m. Don’t worry though, the food is worth the wait. Continue reading

Company Crush: Organic Living Superfoods

Screen Shot 2013-01-25 at 4.24.35 PM

Where I come from, veganism is still considered “weird,” so there aren’t a whole lot of local companies with products conducive to a vegan lifestyle. The West coast is bursting with organic, vegan-friendly companies, but in my area, finding a good, wholesome company can be difficult.

However, my search (and hopefully yours!) has come to an end with a new company called Organic Living Superfoods located in Boston, Mass. Continue reading
